ABOUT THIS TOUR

Your day begins with complimentary pick up at your resort/hotel. Enjoy the incredible views as we make our way to the Williams train depot.

Next, board the historic, century-old Grand Canyon Railway. Be entertained by cowboy characters and enjoy the tunes of strolling musicians as train travel from the early 1900s is recreated during the scenic 65-mile journey to the canyon. The train offers wonderful views of the San Francisco Peaks and rolls through valleys filled in wild flowers, dense pine forests, high desert plains and small canyons. Grand Canyon Railway is still one of the best ways left to experience the old west. The train arrives just steps from the Grand Canyon's South Rim.

You will have free time to shop, dine or just take in the incredible canyon views. Then your Guide will meet you in the touring van and take you to the East Rim to a few more great lookouts. As we drive out the East exit we will drive along the Little Colorado River Gorge into the Navajo Nation. Here, enjoy a stop at the Historic Cameron Trading Post before returning to your resort. You will have the opportunity to browse the Native American artwork and shop for souvenirs. A great day in the west!

*Please note that you do not see the Grand Canyon from the train. You will see the Grand Canyon after you arrive at the South Rim.

What our Guests have to say about this Tour...

"My husband and I took this tour with Brad and really enjoyed it. We were picked up at our hotel and dropped off at the train depot in Williams to board the Grand Canyon Railway. Brad helped us secure our tickets and made sure we knew where to meet him once we arrived at the Grand Canyon. We rode in the Luxury Dome car of the train and it was a very relaxing ride. Once at the Grand Canyon, we rejoined Brad and our group and made 4 stops at different points around the Canyon. The scenery was amazing and it was nice having an expert drive us around so we didn't have to navigate the roads ourselves. On the way back to Sedona, we stopped at Cameron Trading Post on a Native American reservation where we could shop for trinkets that were authentically made. Brad was full of great information and we walked away knowing more about the canyon as well as the Native Americans and history of the area. Highly recommend this tour!"

"Beautiful Sedona and Grand Canyon views and history.  This was an amazing tour. They picked us up at our hotel and dropped us off there as well. It was so convenient. The tour Guide Al was amazing. He is very knowledgeable and you can tell loves his job and the history of the area. He made a long van drive much more bearable with all his information. We got on the Grand Canyon railroad for the 2 hour ride to the Grand Canyon where AL was waiting to get us. The views were incredible and the day went by way to fast. The scenery is beautiful. You are able to buy drinks and some food on the train. We stopped for lunch as well as at a couple gift shops. It was a really great day! I would highly recommend especially if you are short on time in the area as this captured a lot for us."

"On April 16, 7 of us set out on the Grand Canyon tour with JR. As we were winding through the beautiful scenery on the way to Williams to meet the train, Wes became quite ill. JR stopped as soon as it was safe. [After Wes] had been stabilized, we went to Williams. 911 was called. I convinced my relatives who are from LA and TX to get on the train to continue the tour and JR stayed with me. The ambulance came, and determined it was a combination of altitude, vertigo and the winding roads. JR was in contact with the owner of the tour company who was apparently 30 minutes from Williams. He said Paul [the tour owner] could drive us back to Sedona to our hotel! What a relief!  Paul, JR and the paramedics managed to get Wes in Paul’s van, made a nice bed on the seat and we were on our way to Sedona! About 5 miles later Wes came to life and informed us that the keys to our car were in the pants that I threw away! Paul went into action, turned around, went back to the train station where JR had searched through all the trash cans to no avail. Paul called 911 to find out which ambulance had been to the train station. After 4 calls, he finally connected with the ambulance. Paul drove to where the ambulance was, retrieved the keys then drove us to Sedona. When we arrived at the hotel he helped Wes into our room and put him in bed. All of this was so far above the call of duty. If Paul runs his tours like he treated us, I would highly recommend everyone take their tours. Oh, the 5 who went on the tour said it was terrific and JR was the most knowledgeable tour guide. I cannot begin to express how appreciative we are for all that Arizona Tour and Travel did to make a terrible episode show us that there are still caring, loving people out there willing to help when needed!"
