ABOUT THIS TOUR
Your day begins with a scenic drive up Oak Creek Canyon (Sedona departures only) and views of Arizona’s highest mountains, the San Francisco Peaks. Next, we leave tall pine forests and travel onto the vast Navajo Nation for a stop at historic Cameron Trading Post with its impressive collection of souvenirs and Native American arts and crafts. Along the way, you’ll have views of the colorful Painted Desert cliffs in the distance as well as the Little Colorado River. Your guide will share information about the surrounding scenery, the Navajo people and their culture.
The day continues with a 1.5 mile round trip hike to Horseshoe Bend where you can view a unique meander of the Colorado River far below. Afterward, enjoy time for lunch - Guests can make lunch [not included in price] decisions based on appetite, budget and dietary preferences at the food establishment we visit on these tours. Next, enjoy a view of the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell. With over 1,200 miles of shoreline, the lake is a spectacular site.
The highlight of the day is a visit to amazing Antelope Canyon with a Native American guide. This corkscrew canyon is known for its unique water and wind carved sandstone walls and the way light plays in the canyon throughout the day. Your guide will talk about the formation of the slot canyon and offer suggestions for taking the best photos along the way. This is an unforgettable trip with amazing scenery and history.

What our Guests have to say about this Tour...

"Simply Amazing & Beautiful a true must see.. A Navajo guide will escort you through the Antelope Slot Canyon and assist you with picture taking. The slot canyon is breathtaking and worth the all day travel time. On your way, there are other sites as well that are amazing and that have spectacular views. Bobby was a fantastic tour guide who is informative and well versed in Navajo culture and history since he is Indian. Thank you Bobby from Great Ventures Tour for a great time!"

"WOW is an understatement! ...our guide, Kurt, did not stop entertaining us the entire trip up. He was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about not only history of the areas and towns we drove through, but his knowledge of geology and how the land formations had occurred was "Jeopardy" worthy!! Once we arrived, which DID NOT feel like 3 hours, we were handed off to a Native American tour guide, Leonard. Once we entered the Canyon with Leonard, he pointed out the formations one can "see" AND a major plus was that he used each of our personal cell phones to take extraordinary pictures of us within the Canyon. ABSOLUTLEY AMAZING! He played a flute for us while in the Canyon and the sound reverberated throughout, enhancing the listening experience. He helped US to appreciate how Native Americans culture. A truly inspiring trip!"
